Rachel and Steven, A Joyful Windmill Winery Wedding

Patience. Stubbornness. Patience. Stubbornness. That was the common theme with Rachel and Steven. He was smitten back in high school. Every day he would ask Rachel for a pencil during math class just to have an excuse to talk to her. That summer she wasn't interested in dating him but Steven was so confident they would end up together eventually that he told her he would wait for her. Patience. Stubbornness. They hung out during college. A lot. Rachel's brother even asked her what the status was. "Just friends." Patience. Stubbornness. This free spirit graduated from college and accepted a teaching position in Columbia. And left for a year. Patience. Stubbornness. Last weekend, patience won. All of my brides are happy. But I have never experienced such JOY! From the start of the day to the end there was an abundance of JOY. I've always had a quiet, introspective look to my images. I've decided I really love how JOY looks in pictures! JOY was present at the most perfect First Look. It was there during family pictures. It absolutely was there during their ceremony. And yep, in the cotton fields during their first moments as husband and wife as the sun tucked behind a storm filled sky. And since it is the Christmas season, it seems fitting that we talk about JOY. Rachel and Steven, thank you for sharing your JOY with me!
