Jeannie and Matt, A Desert Anniversary Session

Let me introduce you to Jeannie and Matt. They are our neighbors. The kind of neighbors that you can borrow an egg from at 2 am. The kind of neighbors that will make you think twice about ever moving. They are huge advocates of adoption and owners of Elegant Farmhouse Designs. They recently took a break from their farmhouse table rentals for weddings and we headed to the desert for an anniversary shoot!

Rachel and Steven, A Desert Anniversary Session

When I originally met with them to talk about their wedding, one of the things Rachel mentioned was an engagement session. There was so much going on for them during that time that it never happened. But she didn't forget. And neither did Steven. So when their First Anniversary came up Steven wanted to give that to her. Enter the anniversary session! Steven surprised her with meeting up to give her that engagement session Rachel never got! In the last year since they got married, Steven is living his dream job and together they have done a lot of traveling! I'm so glad that I have been a part and I will never forget Rachel & Steven!

Teala and Tyler, A L'Auberge Engagement Session

They dated on and off for awhile. She was so easy going and caring that he always found himself drawn back to her. It wasn't until they realized they shared a disgust for candy canes that they knew they were meant to be! Just kidding! But I did ask Tyler "What would you like for me to know about you?" He simply replied, "That Teala is my soul mate and best friend." Tyler's career has him traveling every spring and summer. But they've made it a priority to adapt and make it work. Tyler exhibits a quiet confidence and it makes Teala shine even brighter!

Kristyn & Jonmark, A Rainy Engagement Session in the Woods

I love all my brides. But this was one where I found myself prayingggg that they would choose me. Can I be real for a minute? I have never photographed anyone that has been in a wheelchair before. Lucky for me it was not a requirement on a list of "must have's" when I met with Kristyn about her wedding. Still keeping it real.... this is probably the session that I am most proud of in my career to this point, but not for the obvious reasons. The reason I am so proud of this work comes down to one word: trust. As mentioned before, I don't think Kristyn and Jonmark were looking for someone with "prior experience." What they were looking for was someone they knew they could trust. They wanted to go up north in the woods and give me the freedom to find and choose a location that would work for them, site unseen. That required a huge amount of trust on their part! But I did my homework kids and it paid off!  We had a little rain, a little sun, and the magic ensued!
